Covid-19 Regulations
Members Only
Diary Event

Until further notice while the Covid-19 pandemic persists all men’s and mixed competitions will be non-drawn, including majors and boarded competitions. The Ladies’ Section will also adhere to the following procedures with some minor deviations for ladies-only competitions that will be notified separately (e.g. method of payment and returning of scores.
Safety • At all times the safety regulations issued by England Golf (https://www.englandgolf.org/playsafe/) and our Director of Golf regarding keeping safe, including but not limited to – minimal loitering in the car park, social distancing, no more than two players / customers in the Pro Shop, not touching flagsticks, etc., must be adhered to at all times.
• Competitions will be available for entry 3 weeks ahead of the competition date on HowDidiDo.
• Enter the competition via HowDidiDo. Select your tee time. It is recommended that you choose to play in a group with Members that you regularly play with. These tee times will be blocked off by the Pro Shop on the BRS booking system so they will not be available to casual and social golfers.
• Soon after the closing date a Start Sheet will be posted on the Club’s website.
• For weekday competitions, like the men’s Wed W, entrants will need to reserve a tee time, either using the BRS App or by telephone to the Pro Shop.
Cancellation / amendment:
• Withdrawing or amending your entry may be made up to midnight Wednesday prior to the date of weekend competitions. After cut off, cancellations / amendments must be made by telephoning the Pro Shop.
• To withdraw or amend entry in weekday competitions, just delete your name from the booking system.
• The lists of handicaps normally kept in locker rooms will not be available, nor will the PSI terminal (in the bar) so you must know your handicap before coming to the club. Look it up on HowDidiDo.
• Results will be delayed somewhat so if competitions are close together it is your responsibility to play of a reduced handicap following a good round if the handicap list has not been updated. You cannot assume you will go up and can only play of a higher handicap once the list is updated.
• Entry fees shall be paid in the Pro Shop via contactless bank card. Physical money will not be accepted.
• Pick up a scorecard from the Pro Shop or a locker room.
Greensomes and Foursomes
• Each partner should use their own golf ball, which is only handled by that player. Under the Rules of Golf a partner is permitted to drop the side’s ball in taking relief. It is also permissible to drop another ball when taking relief.
• When marking and replacing the ball on the putting green this should be conducted by the partner the ball belongs to. Under this situation (or any other where the ball must be replaced) the original ball must be used and must not be substituted by another ball.
• As there will be no rakes on the course a Temporary Local Rule has been raised to allow you to prefer your lie in a bunker with no penalty.
Recording Scores
• Only the competition title and date, players’ names, handicaps, gross scores and points (if applicable) are to be written down along with the recorder’s signature. A second signature is not required.
• Use one scorecard to record just two players’ scores. Scorecards should be completed as neatly as possible. Illegible score / cards may be discarded.
• Seek verbal agreement from each member of the group of their scores prior to submitting scorecards.
Submission of Scorecards
• On completion of the round leave scorecards in the box in the starter’s hut. A committee member will collect them up to 72 hrs after the competition has finished and if necessary input the scores on the computer system.
• Results will be published on HowDidiDo.
• Winners and placed players will receive an email showing the distribution of prizes.
Supplementary Cards
• Registering for a Supplementary round should be done in the normal way, in the Pro Shop.
• Only one signature will be required.
• On completion of the round, photograph the card using a mobile phone and send the picture by email to the Handicaps Secretary, Alan Wood, a.wood48@btinternet.com who will input the score on the computer system.
