Events and friends

Our Junior Organisers run events all year round, from competitions for confident players to fun social days, so juniors meet each other and become course confident.

They are also there to answer any questions about junior golf. Every volunteer who works with children is DBS checked and has had safeguarding training.

Coaching

Badger Academy

Coaching is the best way to learn the game before playing the course. Our Badger Academy offers group and individual coaching for juniors who are new to the sport and for confident players.

You don't have to be a member to join the Badger Academy, which is open to children aged 5 and over. We also run three-day junior golf holiday camps in the school holidays.

  2. Pay the membership and affiliation fees (£95 plus £20) at the office or the pro shop.
  3. Our Junior Organiser will contact you to welcome you and explain what is coming up.
  4. Speak to the pro shop about coaching and tee times.

A guide for non-golfing parents

Getting your child on the course

  • Coaching first. Group or individual coaching, plus practice on the driving range and the chipping and putting green, is the best preparation for the course.
  • Support. Our Junior Organiser runs events through the year to help juniors meet each other and become course confident.
  • Tee times. Weekday evenings are quieter and best for new players. Juniors book tee times in the HowDidiDo app; the office's new member email explains how to set it up.
  • Etiquette. Coaching covers most of it. Please don't wear football or gym kit on the course, and let faster groups play through. Parents can walk the course with their child even if they are not playing.
