GOLF COURSE

Brampton Park Golf Course is an 18 hole parkland golf course opened in 1991 which offers a variety of challenging holes and is a great test for all abilities.

The course is set in 130 acres of established woodland and parkland with rivers and lakes in the village of Brampton in Huntingdonshire. It is a course lined with mature trees, with open vistas and beautiful scenery.

Our renovated Bar also provides great quality food and drinks. Click here for our menu.

Matchplay stroke index

A separate stroke index is to be introduced for match-play at Brampton Park GC and will come into effect on 1st April 2024. This change is for all members. This will not apply to the 2023/24 Bob Harris Singles, 2023/24 Winter Pairs, or 2023/24 Seniors Section Winter singles and these will complete on the current stroke index. The current stroke index will continue to apply for all other formats of play (Medal, Stableford, 4BBB, Scramble, Greensomes, and Bogey).

This offers a more equitable allocation of stokes across 18 holes and avoids, for example, low stoke allocations being grouped together.

The new allocation of strokes is designed against the criteria of Appendix E of the Rules of Handicapping.

The following are the key design principles:

* Odd stoke index over the front nine holes.
* Stroke allocation spread evenly over the 18 holes.
* Lowest stroke index (1 or 2) in the middle triad of holes
* Second lowest stroke index (3 or 4) in the first or third triad of holes
* Avoidance of low stoke index (6 or less) on consecutive holes.
