Welcome from the Seniors' Captain
On behalf of the Senior Men's Section (SMS) Committee, welcome to the SMS. Alongside the busy diary of Ladies' and Men's golf, and under the technical guidance of the Men's Competitions, Handicaps and Fixtures Committee, we run midweek roll-ups, Honours Board competitions and friendly inter-club matches for male members who meet the age requirement.
We are always delighted to welcome new players, whatever their standard: beginner, high handicapper or experienced golfer. Our aim is well-organised competitive golf in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Most rounds are played off the yellow tees, with a few off the whites. The programme is emailed to members, posted monthly on the noticeboard and shared on HowDidiDo.

Anna Kennedy Online
Alongside the Club Charity, the Senior Men's Section runs its own programme of charitable events. This year the seniors are supporting Anna Kennedy Online, an autism charity promoting the inclusion and equality of autistic children and adults throughout society.
The charity raises awareness of autism, provides training, and campaigns with and on behalf of autistic people and their families.
Seniors' dinners
Our two main social events are the Rose Bowl in May and Seniors' Captain's Day in October, both with evening dinners with partners. From 2027, the Rose Bowl dinner is no longer compulsory, so you can play in the competition without staying for the dinner. Everyone is encouraged to come to both, with partners if possible, to keep building the spirit of friendship.
