Welcome from the Senior Men’s Captain
On behalf of the Brampton Park Senior Men’s Section (SMS) Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the SMS and introduce you to the comprehensive golf programme that we organize throughout the year.
Complementing the very active club diary of Ladies’ and Men’s golf, the SMS Committee, operating under the technical guidance of the Men’s Competitions, Handicaps and Fixtures Committee, provides a full range of mid-week roll-ups, Honours Board competitions and friendly inter-club matches for those male members who meet the qualifying age requirements. Rounds of golf are predominantly played off the yellow tees with a small number played off the white tees. The SMS also organises ‘Away Days’, viz. rounds of golf at other clubs.
We are always delighted to welcome new players to our ranks whatever their playing standard – beginner, high-handicapper or experienced golfer.
In the men’s locker room we have a sign-up sheet system for roll-ups on Mondays and Fridays groups each week in which you simply add your name to the list and proceed to the tee in groups of three or four (as advised on the sheet). Sign-up is a random process and by varying your arrival times, even slightly, you will soon get to know many of you fellow senior golfers. £1 is to be paid into the box above the sign-in sheet as an entry fee for each roll-up.
Our aim is to provide well organised competitive golf in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The information below should give a better understanding of how we run the Section, but my contact details are available from the office for anyone needing further information.

SMS dinners
Our two main events of the social year – the Rose Bowl in May and Seniors’ Captain’s Day in October – both include evening dinners with partners.
Please note that entry into the Rose Bowl competition (but not the Captain’s Day) is conditional upon attending the dinner in the evening (a Seniors tradition at Brampton). All Senior Men’s Section members are encouraged to attend both dinners, with partners if possible, to help continue to build the spirit of friendship.
Inter-club matches
There is a full programme of friendly but competitive home and away matches against local golf clubs open to Full Members with a ‘competition’ handicap.
Entry sheets are posted on ClubV1 approximately 3 to 4 weeks ahead of the match, with selection notified about two weeks before. These are friendly events, and our selection process is such that everyone will get to play and is encouraged to put their names down.
